Product Overview

The 4SRC Type 3 Ducktail Boot Lid is developed for the Nissan GT-R R35 platform, combining lightweight prepreg carbon construction with a functional aerodynamic design.

Unlike conventional designs that prioritise either styling or compatibility, this boot lid integrates a subtle ducktail profile while retaining OEM spoiler mounting geometry, allowing greater flexibility in rear-end configuration.

This design approach has been part of our production since 2020, developed with both aerodynamic function and real-world usability in mind.


Construction

Manufactured using pre-impregnated (prepreg) carbon fibre and autoclave curing, this boot lid offers a high level of structural consistency, surface quality, and weight reduction.

The result is a lightweight panel designed for performance-oriented applications while maintaining proper fitment and mounting integrity.

Aerodynamic Design Approach

The integrated ducktail profile creates a more defined trailing edge for airflow separation at the rear of the vehicle.

Compared to a flat deck surface, this design helps stabilise airflow as it exits the body, contributing to improved aerodynamic balance at higher speeds while maintaining a clean and understated appearance.

This approach reflects a broader shift towards functional rear-end aero design, where subtle geometry changes provide measurable benefits without excessive visual impact.

OEM SPOILER CONFIGURATION

Retains compatibility with OEM rear spoiler mounting positions, allowing direct installation while benefiting from the integrated ducktail design.

EXTENDED AERO CONFIGURATION

Compatible with 4SRC add-on carbon spoiler extensions mounted onto the OEM spoiler, providing an additional layer of aerodynamic enhancement.

This flexibility allows the same component to suit both clean builds and more performance-focused configurations.


Weight & Performance

With an approximate weight of 3kg, this boot lid offers a meaningful reduction compared to the factory aluminium panel.

Nismo Spoiler Compatibility

Nismo rear spoiler systems are not compatible with this boot lid.

Due to differences in mounting design, Nismo spoiler assemblies extend across and engage with the rear edge of the factory boot lid.
The integrated ducktail profile alters this geometry and prevents correct installation.

Customers intending to use Nismo spoiler setups should retain the OEM-style boot lid.


Aftermarket Wing Applications

Larger aftermarket wing setups introduce significantly higher aerodynamic loads compared to OEM-style spoilers.

For such applications, appropriate reinforcement and installation methods are required to ensure proper load distribution.

Due to variations in wing design and mounting configuration, we recommend contacting us directly prior to installation. Our team can advise based on your specific setup.

For dedicated motorsport applications, chassis-mounted wing systems remain the preferred solution.
